In March 2019, Susi LAW (Susi) and YIP Kai-chun (Chun) stayed in Goa, India for around 2 weeks to participate ‘Reis Magos Art Fest’ organised by the Mumbai-based art organisation ArtOxygen.
The Fest took place at the nearly 400-year-old Reis Magos Church in the village Reis Magos. Artists were invited to create based on the church and the village. As Lent and other religious observance and festivals fell in March in Goa, the Fest also extended to the notions of sacrifice and redemption.
Susi and Chun will share their creative process and experience in India, and take this to reflect on artist-in-residence: the encounter with a foreign culture and local community as an artist, and how these stimulate and affect creation.
The session will be in Cantonese and supplemented by English when needed. Indian snacks and beverage will be provided.
